Step by Step Guide to a Spa-at-Home day.
Nothing can go wrong by playing some of your favourite music to set the mood first. Light a scented candle to make it smell like a spa. Our personal favourites are definitely Rose and Eucalyptus.
The first step is the most important. It should be emphasised and performed for at least a few minutes. Apply medium pressure when washing your face with a cleanser most suitable for your skin type. (Not sure which skin type you are? Take our short quiz here. http://bit.ly/2DwOAAo ) Rinse with water and gently pat dry. Repeat if necessary.
Lean your face over a pot of hot water and drape a towel over your head. Steam for 10-15 minutes, it opens the skin follicles.
Light pressure for 1-2 minutes, exfoliating helps evening out the skin tone, refining pores and smoothing out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Your skin now is ready to be pampered since it’s thoroughly cleansed now. Choose a good mask and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. It’s not gonna hurt if you want to place some cucumber slices on the eyes. Haha!
Now it’s time for your favourite toner. Let the skin dry before applying your favourite serum or essence.
This should always be the last step of your skin care routine. Pick your favourite moisturiser and massage deeply into the skin until all is absorbed. Facial massage is great to relieve some tension too. The key is to keep moving the hands up, never down.
Last but not least, you always have time for a hand scrub and a foot soak to relax and to achieve momentary bliss.
