2500 PINKY RUNNERS & RAISED RM10000 “PINKY FUND” IN BEAUTÉ LIBRARY’S PINKTOBER BAZAAR, PINKY RUN 2018
The first-ever CSR initiatives, Pinktober Bazaar, Pinky Run organised by Beauté Library. Official Apparel sponsor by Skechers Malaysia, in support of National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) and greatly supported by Gleneagle Hospital, TCS Jewellry, ParksonCard Malaysia, Starbucks, Swarovski, Grab, Celebrity Fitness, Fuji Bakery, and Media partnership with Citta Bella Malaysia & Herinspirasi.com has successfully achieved at least RM10 000 Pinky funds on 13th & 14th October at MyTOWN SHOPPING CENTRE, KL.
Celebrities who have joined the worthy cause together including Fara Fauzana (DJ), Adeline Tsen (Artress / Singer), KK Wong (DJ), Carla Soong (Super Model), Emily Kong (Actress/ Singer), Najwa Latiff (Singer), Chrystina Ng (TV Host), Ziah Zhang (Actor), Wilson Lee (Actor), Sherlyn Seo (Actress), Zoey Hui (Singer), Wei Wei Chan, (TV Host) and more!
Clad in vibrant pink jerseys bearing the slogan ‘Early Detection Saves Lives’, the runners powered through a 3km and 5km run. The Pinky Run has successfully gathered over 2500 “Pinky” runners to spread the breast cancer awareness together.
National cancer society Malaysia (NCSM) provides free clinical breast examination (CBE) on the event day, meanwhile educates attendees about the importance of early detection. This is because the survival rate for breast cancer is as high as 85 per cent, with appropriate treatment. Kenneth Low, nutritionist from NCSM also shared about nutrient consumption. Also, Hiba Abdul Rahman, breast cancer survivor and her husband, Fareez Shah also invited to share about the journey of breast cancer recovery and its complication of cancer.
One of the biggest Pinky Charity auction held right after Pinky Run on 14th Oct, A charity branded luxuries goods auction donated by personage such as Marion Caunter, and Emily Loo, Founder of Beaute Library. The total charity auction hosted by Fara Fauzana has successfully raised a good sum of money!
Nevertheless, over 40 vendors who has joined the charity bazaar. The categories including art, fashion, lifestyle, and food truck namely Mossybola kokadame, De Artoo, and etc.
During the launch, “I’m deeply surprised by the overwhelming numbers of participants to the Pinky Run regardless of gender, religion to join for the worthy cause of breast cancer!” “Breast cancer remains a major killer among Malaysian women. According to national cancer statistics, approximately one in 19 Malaysians is at risk of developing the disease.” “Through the event, we would like to contribute back to the society by partnering with NCSM to raise fund, to provide free breast screening for those who are from a less privileged family.” by Wilson Lee, Managing Director of Beaute Library.
